An initiative by Tanay Mehta, The Cyclistas & Adventures Beyond Barriers Foundation (ABBF) have collaborated for a Tandem Cycling Event. We are dedicated to promoting inclusion and breaking down barriers for Persons with Disability. The Tandem cycling activity aims to bring together the 'Visually Impaired Individuals' and 'Sighted Captains' to ride together on a Tandem bicycle.
Through this 'Tandem Cycling' weekend activity, the visually impaired riders will build confidence, form meaningful friendships and shatter stereotypes. The sighted captains will gain a new perspective on the world and develop empathy for those with disabilities.
Primary goal of the event is to raise enough funds to cover the maintenance costs of the Tandem Cycles for the next three months.
Two rides have been organised and the details are as follows :-
Date: 13th May, Saturday and/or 28th May 2023, Sunday
Time : 6.00 am - 8.00 am
Distance : 15 km
Fee : INR 800/- per rider per ride.

Agenda : 15 km Cycling culminating with refreshments and interactions.
The ride will start from NAB Worli Sea Face to NCPA and back to Sobo Central mall @ Chaos Control Café for Chai with breakfast and an interaction amongst the visually impaired and the Sighted Cyclists. We must be sensitive to the challenges which they face and encourage them to live a more fulfilling life.
NOTE:
1. Get your cycle checked before joining the ride. Proper Air pressure is most important to avoid punctures, also make sure both front/rear brakes are working properly
2. Please come at least 5 minutes earlier than the reporting time at the meeting points. In case you don't reach in time, follow the live map
3. Helmets, Reflective Vest, Front/Back Lights are very important, carry a bottle of water, snacks, energy bar if required.
4. Please note that we are not responsible for any mishap or loss of any kind.
We do not take any responsibility for any loss to property or life before/during and after its events and rides. These rides are solely for the riders to experience the rides and learn Road Rules. We are in NO WAY to be liable or responsible for any kind of MISHAP / ACCIDENT or any kind of LOSS . It is strongly recommended that kids below 15 to be accompanied by their PARENTS or GUARDIANS , Helmet is a MUST during rides, DO NOT try to do stunts or ride at high speed during the group ride, Front and Rear Lights and Helmet are Safety Devices and need to be in order on every Ride. Please adhere to safety and follow the Rules of Traffic.
