ABBF and the changemakers of Tata Autocomp joined hands for the SAMATA Inclusive Trek, where persons with and without disabilities climbed the peak of Korigad Fort on the cold winter morning of November 15th.
The trek began with us taking a road trip from Pune to Lonavala, where we bonded over Antakshari. The morning wind was chilly, but the enthusiasm for the trek kept us warm and motivated.
As we started the ascent, the trail of Korigad witnessed the spirit of inclusion. People of all abilities moved up step by step, learning something new from one another. The key highlight of this trek was our youngest volunteer, Reyansh, a twelve-year-old who accompanied his mother for an adventurous morning. He climbed up the mountain, being an ally to Chandrakant. In a conversation with us, he told us that this experience felt no different than trekking with a friend, which is yet another reminder that inclusion is not a burden but a matter of empathy.
At the top, the breathtaking views from Korigad Fort made every effort worth it. We soaked in the winter sun and celebrated the climb.
