ABBF, along with changemakers at Tata Autocomp, organized SAMATA Inclusive Camping, where persons with and without disabilities camped together at Pawna Lake near Kamshet.
The experience began on the bright winter noon as we travelled by bus from Pune to Pawna. This was followed by an evening of fun where there were series of games and inclusive activities that helped break the ice and sparked new friendships. Later, after dinner we enjoyed a an evening with live music around the campfire, followed by cricket that went on till 2 am. As we say, inclusion has no boundaries, and persons with and without disabilities truly lived that spirit.
The next morning began with a short trek to a nearby hill, where we watched the sunrise and shared our stories of inclusion, expressing what this experience brought into our lives. We didn’t want it to end, but after breakfast, it was time to wrap up the camp. While the experience ended, it marked the beginning of many new friendships that will last beyond this journey.
