The marathon saw participation of a total of 14000 runners from Pune. We had an orientation for our allies at Sambhaji Park a day before from 4 pm to 5 pm.
Very few allies showed up. Most of them collected their bib, t shirt and goody bag the next day. On race day 4 were signed up for 10km so they all started earlier. There was a two hour gap between the 10km and 6 km category. Most allies showed up on time. We started along with everyone else in the 6 km category. The wheelchair users finished before everyone else. The PWDs from Bal Bhavan were enthusiastic and cheerful. Allies completed their run and then all of them got a chance to go on stage together. Wheelchair users had to be carried onto the stage as it was inaccessible. We shareed about ABBF on stage and got a huge round of applause from all present. After this we walked back to the parking lot and had a small circle of sharing. All the allies were very satisfied and happy with the overall experience.
