The event consisted of confined water SCUBA Diving, during which the able bodied participants and people with disabilities learnt SCUBA skills together while supporting and interacting with each other. Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving where the diver uses a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) which is completely independent of surface supply, to breathe underwater. The instructor to participant ratio for Persons with Disability was 2:1 and for able bodied participants, was 1:1.

The PWDs arrived at the pool at 7:10 am, and the cyclists reached by 7:30 am. Upon gathering, everyone was given orientation about the activity which included a basic introduction to why we have gathered. An ice breaking session was done in order to encourage interaction between the able bodied participants, volunteers and persons with disability. The cyclists were made to fill out the consent forms as they arrived. After everyone had completed the registration, the instructor began the briefing and introduced the equipment to all the participants. He also went on to discuss the safety aspects of SCUBA Diving and the physics behind the sport. The briefing lasted for around 30 minutes and there was a high level of engagement from the participants. The briefing was done in the local language (Tamil) so that it would be easy for everyone to follow. The participants started entering the pool one by one. Each individual training session lasted for up to 15 minutes. The participants were overjoyed to be in the water and the energy levels were high. Breakfast was served to all participants around 9:30 AM. Some participants shared their experience with the group after their scuba session. The instructors spent adequate time in the water with each participant, and ensured that they were comfortable and enjoying the experience. The Firefox cyclists were also supporting the instructors in the water. Volunteers, both from the VELS College and from Firefox, were helping to push the wheelchairs and also supporting them in the water.
